Cambridge Scholar Publishers is starting a new series of monographs on Kant. The series is called Kantian Questions, and it aims at publishing first-rate original work on any topic of Kantian scholarship, as well as reflections on contemporary debates that bear the imprint of Kant’s thought. The vision for the series is truly cosmopolitan: it welcomes work from a variety of philosophical traditions and perspectives, without discriminating between the “analytic” and “continental” schools. The only requirement is scholarly quality and innovation. The goal is to offer an alternative publishing venue of the highest quality, attractive to Kant scholars who want to reach, through the possibility of paperback editions, a readership of specialists and non-specialist alike.
We are preparing editions of multi-volume collected works of key figures in English and American literature, a project which saw its first publication in the first quarter of 2009. The works include new introductions, bibliographies and other useful materials, but the texts themselves have few if any annotations.
At present, the figures whose works are in preparation include:
Robert Browning James Fenimore Cooper Arthur Conan Doyle Charles Dickens Nathaniel Hawthorne Anthony Trollope
Those that are in print are: Jane Austen Lord Byron Robert Louis Stevenson William Makepeace Thackeray
We are no longer considering new collections, and expect this project to come to completion by the third quarter of 2010.

Archives and Manuscripts Projects
As of February 2008, we are inviting proposals for the publication of archives and manuscripts in a select number of areas including Political Sciences and Ethnic Minorities. The project is intended as a means of making primary materials valuable to the scholarly community more readily available and accessible. The recent investment in equipment that will facilitate the process of digitizing certain types of archival materials will serve the purpose of allowing the work involved to be carried out inhouse, which in turn is aimed at allowing hard copies of the works to be available at relatively affordable prices. It is a long term objective of this project to be able to provide both case-bound hard copies of the materials and electronic versions wherever copyright-related factors allow.
Scholars interested in participating should contact Chris Humphrey (
) with a proposal stating the nature/contents of the materials, the format in which they are available (paper archives, microfiche, digital formats), any copyright issues that they know of, any information on the current location of the materials as well as any further information that may be relevant.
At present, the following media are particularly emphasised:
Letters and diaries Manuscripts of key texts Working papers Unpublished project plans and documentation Other archival material of interest as primary materials for researchers in the areas in which we publish
While we are at present focusing on political and social sciences, we also welcome ideas and proposals in any of the fields in which we publish.
As the project develops, we expect to introduce changes to this page.
