Archives and Manuscripts Projects

As of February 2008, we are inviting proposals for the publication of archives and manuscripts in a select number of areas including Political Sciences and Ethnic Minorities. The project is intended as a means of making primary materials valuable to the scholarly community more readily available and accessible. The recent investment in equipment that will facilitate the process of digitizing certain types of archival materials will serve the purpose of allowing the work involved to be carried out inhouse, which in turn is aimed at allowing hard copies of the works to be available at relatively affordable prices. It is a long term objective of this project to be able to provide both case-bound hard copies of the materials and electronic versions wherever copyright-related factors allow.

Scholars interested in participating should contact Iain Rennie (irennie@c-s-p.org) with a proposal stating the nature/contents of the materials, the format in which they are available (paper archives, microfiche, digital formats), any copyright issues that they know of, any information on the current location of the materials as well as any further information that may be relevant.

At present, the following media are particularly emphasised:

Letters and diaries
Manuscripts of key texts
Working papers
Unpublished project plans and documentation
Other archival material of interest as primary materials for researchers in the areas in which we publish

While we are at present focusing on political and social sciences, we also welcome ideas and proposals in any of the fields in which we publish.

As the project develops, we expect to introduce changes to this page.
