He was President of the African Studies Association of the United Kingdom, 2006-2008 and a member of the EWG of the Review of African Political Economy.

George Klay Kieh Jr. is Professor of Political Science and African Studies at Grand Valley State University and Senior Research Fellow in the Program in Ethnic and Federal Studies at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

John Mukum Mbaku is Willard L. Eccles Professor of Economics and John S. Hinckley Fellow at Weber State University, Ogden, Utah (USA), and associate editor (Africa), Journal of Third World Studies. He is also president of the African Educational Foundation for Public Policy and Market Process. He has previously taught at the University of Georgia and Kennesaw State University.
