This book explores how the strategies reflecting the exchanges between past and present modes of artistic production become active agents of intervention in creating the various spaces of dialogue and confrontation when establishing the identities and cultural specificity of a certain society or community. Dídac Llorens Cubedo is a researcher at the Universitat Jaume I (Castelló, Spain), where he also teaches English literature. He has taught Spanish in Northern Ireland and Spanish and Catalan at Fitzwilliam College and the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages of the University of Cambridge. He is currently working on a comparative study of the poetic imagination of T. S. Eliot and the Catalan poet Salvador Espriu.
José Ramón Prado-Pérez is full-time lecturer in English Literature at Universitat Jaume I, Spain. He specialises in British alternative theatre and performace from a social and cultural perspective, as well as film adaptations of Shakespeare’s works.
