He is full member of Novgorod Society of Fanciers of Antiquities. Since 1994 he manages field researches of medieval sites at the Novgorod region. Еarlier during 7 years he taught “Archaeology of the Iron Age” and “Archaeological Historiography” at St. Petersburg State University, Historical Faculty. In 2003 he was сo-ordinator of the 9th Annual Meeting of European Association of Archaeologists at St. Petersburg.
