The unifying thread of this book is sustaining resilience in the Asia Pacific. We acknowledge this perseverance and try to sustain and disseminate it so that other communities may learn from these practices and experiences. This book hopes to add to the literature on resiliency by addressing these issues from a multidisciplinary and multilevel perspective. Wilmar Salim is a Ph.D. candidate with the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa and was the chair of the 5th East-West Center International Graduate Student Conference. He was an East-West Center Degree Fellow from 2003-2007.
Kiran Sagoo is a Ph.D. candidate with the Department of Sociology at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa and was the co-chair and chair of the 2nd and 3rd East-West Center International Graduate Student Conference.
